political prisoners.

yesterday cnn reported that the iranian government has blocked access to facebook after presidential candidate, mir hossein mousavi, created a facebook page for his campaign that drew more than 5,000 supporters. reformist candidate mousavi is considered a threat to the current hardline president, mahmoud ahmadinejad. the political action was ordered by the masadiq committee in an obvious effort to protect the upcoming june 12th presidential elections.

yes, because completely blocking access to the world's most popular networking site is the most secure way to convince the iranian people that their current government does not need reform and ensure their full support on june 12. how clever. why didn't we think of that five years ago?
