last night hbo premiered their made for t.v. movie, grey garderns. it details the lives of the aunt and first cousin of former first lady jacqueline bouvier kennedy onassis. "big" edith bouvier beale was played by jessica lange and "little" edie was played by drew barrymore. what appeared to the rest of the world in the 1970s as eccentricity and borderline insanity was revealed in the 2009 plot as the preservation of grace, creativity, and determination. the story of these two women blithely accepting the hurdles of life all the while maintaining their distinctly unique and vibrant spirit is nothing short of inspiring.
